The Master’s Series : Discovering White Burgundy-Vineyards and Producers

| $235Welcome to The Master’s Series of tutored tastings at Taberna Wine Academy. These are tastings which will focus on specific themes such as vertical tastings of a single estate (eg. Château Lafite) or a single vintage (eg. 1990 Bordeaux) or a grape variety (eg. Chardonnays from around the world). The series is not intended to be a formal course in wine, but it does intend to be educational, providing a detailed examination of each theme covered. Above all, it aims to be fun and enjoyable!
The series kicks off on 31st July 2019 with a thematic tasting of white burgundy focused on the interaction of vineyard and winemaker with the perception of “terroir”. The tasting will cover three of the most important appellations in Burgundy in this context – Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet – using a selection of Premier Crus and leading producers.
The series will be conducted by Singapore’s first and only Master of Wine, Mr Tan Ying Hsien MW. Ying has spoken on wine in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, London, Ningxia and Perth. He has judged at international wine competitions frequently, including the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Competition and Decanter Asia Wine Awards. Ying is also very engaged in the education programme of the Institute of Masters of Wine mentoring and advising a number of students world-wide.
