Taberna Wine Academy started life in November 2010 at Binjai Park offering wine tutorials, tastings as well as an extensive selection of wines at the bar. It was the brainchild of its owner Tan Ying Hsien MW (aka Raptornose) – Master of Wine Singapore, who wanted a space where he could share wines and wine knowledge with other wine enthusiasts.

After an arduous 6 years, Singaporean wine educator, speaker and journalist Tan Ying Hsien has become the first Singaporean to be a Master of Wine (MW). It is the one of the most prestigious and sought-after titles in the wine world and is awarded by the London-based The Institute of Masters of Wine.
